Overview
From November 20, 2025, to April 6, 2026, the Museo Civico Archeologico in Bologna hosts a fascinating journey into Japanese graphic design. The exhibition, titled "Graphic Japan," takes you on a discovery of the art's evolution, from the Edo period (1603-1868) to the present day.
The exhibition guides you through over 200 works, including ukiyoe prints by masters like Hokusai, books, posters, and handcrafted objects. The journey is divided into four thematic sections (Nature, Figures, Signs, and Contemporary Japonism), revealing the influence of graphics on every aspect of Japanese culture, from calligraphy and design to fashion, cinema, and modern manga.
Thanks to loans from prestigious institutions such as the Edoardo Chiossone Museum of Oriental Art in Genoa and the Dai Nippon Foundation, the exhibition is the perfect way to extend the celebrations of Expo 2025 Osaka in Italy.
