Overview
On the border between Campania and Basilicata, Sala Consilina is a meeting point between roads, cultures, communication routes and commercial hubs. In the area, inhabited since the Neolithic, under the Romans arose the city of Consilium, as documented by several archaeological finds. Noble palaces and fortresses instead testify to the arrival of the Normans, as well as architectural traces of the passage of the Bourbons, in the eighteenth century.
