Overview
Caiazzo develops on a hilly area immediately east of the Trebulani mountains, in a privileged position that offers a charming view of the surrounding hills and the underlying plain cultivated with vineyards and olive groves. The natural beauty frames a significant number of artistic and architectural landmarks scattered among the alleys of the historic center, dominated by the castle of Lombard origin. Notable are, in particular, the noble residences, starting with the 15th-century Palazzo Mazziotti, now home to the ethnographic museum “Kere,” dedicated to preserving the memory of peasant culture. A short distance away, along the main street, the Baroque facades of Palazzo Santoro and Palazzo Savastano follow in succession, the latter recognizable for its lavishly decorated windows.
