Overview
In 2026, Sila 3 Peaks will celebrate ten years of adventure, endurance and unspoilt nature, confirming its status as one of the most iconic and internationally recognised outdoor events. From 25 February to 1 March 2026, the Sila plateau will be the setting for a unique winter raid, often compared to Alaska's Iditarod in terms of intensity, environmental conditions and spirit of exploration.
Born from an idea by Giuseppe Guzzo and Mara Carchidi, Sila 3 Peaks is much more than a sporting competition: it is a profound experience that tests the body and mind as it traverses snow-covered landscapes, absolute silence and extreme distances. There are five routes on the programme, designed for different levels of preparation but united by the same common thread: an authentic encounter with the mountains. They range from the 260 km Aria route, the true symbol of the event, to more accessible distances such as Conquista la Vetta (Conquer the Summit), allowing everyone to experience the atmosphere of the event, even in an introductory form.
The races take place entirely in the Sila area, between Cosenza and Catanzaro, and are open to different disciplines: snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, fat-bike MTB and, on some routes, even with your dog. The staggered starts from Camigliatello Silano take athletes and spectators on a journey that lasts several days and involves the entire area.
The 10th edition also marks the beginning of a broader vision: Sila 3 Peaks becomes the heart of a network of outdoor events that unites Sila, Aspromonte and Pollino, building a continuous narrative of the Calabrian mountains through trails, trekking and local communities. The project aims to deseasonalise tourist flows and enhance inland areas, promoting the idea of slow, authentic and sustainable tourism.
