Overview
Scontrone, in the province of Aquila, is a village with a dual soul, ancient and modern, linked to the roots and at the same time aimed at the future. Like its essence, the village's structure is also dual: the municipality is located in the highest part of the town, in the most historic part, while the hamlet of Villa Scontrone lies downstream, on the Sangro river. In the ancient village, the dialogue between medieval culture and contemporary art is evident: here, in fact, people can admire interesting murals and sculptures, which embellish the village. Scontrone also has a very ambitious artistic project: it wants to become the House of the Muses, spreading art in all its aspects, from music to theatre, from poetry to painting and multimedia art.
