Overview
Continuing the events of Autunno Musicale, the widespread programme conceived by Musincantus in collaboration with the Province of Treviso, the Municipality of Treviso, and local cultural institutions, supported by local companies: this year it consists of seven events, from Saturday 15 November to Sunday 21 December, in the main churches of the city. During these appointments, it will explore the connection between Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and sacred music, and will celebrate two important anniversaries: the five-hundredth anniversary of the birth of Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina (with whom Treviso has a significant connection) and the bicentenary of the death of Antonio Salieri.
The distinctive trait of the project — which takes up not only the name but also the history and DNA of the concert and opera season introduced in Treviso in the 1960s — is its commitment to enhancing the works of great figures of classical music, with particular attention to lesser-known compositions, and to bringing to light precious fragments of the city’s musical history, introducing their protagonists and context, with the intention of making these small yet great discoveries a “shared heritage”.
