Church of St Francis Borgia

Overview

The church of St Francis Borgia is located along Via dei Crociferi, a street characterised by its Baroque setting. The sacred building has a double flight of stairs and a linear façade in the Roman academic style, developed on two orders of twin marble columns. Inside, the three naves are extremely wide and bright, while the side altars are made of marble and adorned with altarpieces painted by 18th-century Catanese artists. The dome is also frescoed with motifs inspired by the Society of Jesus by the painter Olivio Sozzi.
