Overview
On the high peaks of the Sicani Mountains we can find the village of Caltabellotta, an ancient place whose history is lost in the mists of time. Among the village's narrow streets, one can breathe in its deep Christian roots and spirituality; in fact, there are many churches and religious buildings in its territory. A must-see is the Castle that, at an altitude of almost 1,000 metres, offers a breathtaking view and takes us back in time. But Caltabellotta is also tradition, linked both to food and wine and to ancient rituals. The protagonist of the local cuisine is its olive oil, which has always been known for its quality and goodness, while among the events not to be missed is the 'Festa de li Fimmini', a religious event that every year commemorates the 'miracle of the rain' of 1957 with an evocative procession.
