Overview
Santa Maria Maggiore is the main town of the Vigezzo Valley. The town is beautifully located in a wide valley surrounded by fir trees. The parish church of the Assumption, built in the 18th century on a Romanesque church, is worth a visit. The Rossetti Valentini Art Gallery is housed in the School of Fine Arts and contains paintings by artists from the valley. In the park at Villa Antonia you'll find the Chimney Sweep Museum, a story of a past when the trade was common in the valley.
