Overview
Both the most ancient and the most recent history are told in the territory of Bene Vagienna, commonly known as Bene, which preserves traces of the past on its territory, from the Roman presence to the closest centuries. Dating back to the Roman domination of the area is its famous archaeological area, still only partly explored, which contains a temple, a thermal complex and an amphitheatre, all protected by a Special Nature Reserve. The Middle Ages, on the other hand, are narrated to us travellers with the presence of the castle and the fortifications surrounding it. In the heart of the village, on the other hand, we can read traces of the history closer to us, particularly in the buildings with Baroque façades, built between the 17th and 18th centuries. A trip to Bene is a journey through history, an adventure back in time between art and culture.
