Overview
The Conero Regional Park, in the Marche region, is an ideal destination for those who dream of a regenerating and zero-impact holiday. It covers an area of about 6,000 hectares: you can cross it on foot, on horseback or by mountain bike, choosing from 18 trails differing in walking time and level of difficulty.
The landscapes and colours are a real delight for the eyes and the soul. The ideal times to choose the Conero Park are in spring, during the gorse flowering and, in autumn, for the strawberry tree. The high overhanging walls of Monte Conero frame beaches and coves of rare beauty, which can be reached on foot or by sea. The peregrine falcon, cormorant, solitary sparrow and greater red woodpecker nest on the cliffs. Among the animals, on the other hand, badgers, foxes, weasels, skunks and hedgehogs are at home here.
Also not to be missed, in the surrounding area, are: the medieval village of Sirolo; the coastal town of Numana, with its colourful houses; Recanati, with its thousand references to Giacomo Leopardi; the Cathedral of Osimo; Offagna, an open-air history and medieval folklore lesson. The icing on the cake? The excellent local cuisine.
