Overview
Orange Flag of the Italian Touring Club
In the plain at the mouth of the Imagna Valley, amidst lush green meadows and cool, shady woods, we find the small village of Almenno San Bartolomeo. Its territory is part of the Parco del Romanico (Romanesque Park) and is the ideal destination for those seeking a place to explore nature: the park is in fact rich in paths, to be followed on foot or by bicycle, either independently or with a specialized guide. But the village also offers attractions for those who love art and culture. Not to be missed is the Round Church of San Tomè, a jewel of Lombard Romanesque architecture surrounded by splendid countryside, but also the Tino Sana Carpenter's Museum, where the secrets of woodworking and its various uses are preserved. Also, the Parietti Furnace Museum, which tells the story of ancient local production and which was a 19th-century factory, is special.
