Overview
Established by Paul VI in 1973, it has occupied the first floor of the Lateran Palace since 1987. The Collections, arranged in three galleries, are divided into three sections: Papal Iconography, from the 16th century to the present day; the Ceremonial of the Papal Court no longer in use; and the Papal Military Corps. You can also visit ten rooms of the papal apartment where you can admire frescoes from the Mannerist era, French and Roman tapestries, antique furniture, weapons and wooden sculptures.
