Overview
The heart of contemporary creative Rome
In the heart of Rome, between the Terme di Caracalla and the Garbatella district, there is one of the most important places in Europe for the dissemination of contemporary art, theatre, dance and music. It is the Opificio Romaeuropa, a large multifunctional open space where artistic performances, exhibitions, concerts, conferences and film shoots have taken place for years.
The space is managed by the Romaeuropa Foundation, which organises the important Romaeuropa Festival every year from September to November. The event involves many cultural venues in the capital, from Teatro Argentina to the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone, via Teatro Vascello, Teatro Vittoria and the Opificio itself, with music, theatre, dance and digital events.
The main building, the large Opificio in Via dei Magazzini Generali, stretches over an impressive 1,500 square metres on two levels, capable of accommodating 100 people in the stalls and 200 standing depending on what the events scheduled throughout the year require.
