Big Bench No. 423 in Minturno: view over the Gulf of Gaeta from Scauri
The Big Bench Community Project (BBCP), created by designer Chris Bangle, places oversized benches at scenic viewpoints across Italy, crafted by local artisans and paired with an official “passport” to be stamped at each destination. There are currently fourteen of them located across the Lazio region. Big Bench No. 423 is one of the most recent additions, having been installed in 2025 along the southern Lazio coastline.
Location and panoramic views
Big Bench No. 423 is situated in Minturno, specifically at Torre di Scauri on Mount d'Oro. To reach it, visitors can start from the Scauri seafront and follow the marked pedestrian trail named "Grande Panchina – Torre di Scauri". From this vantage point, the panorama takes in the Gulf of Gaeta and the rolling hills around Scauri. The project was rolled out by the Vivi Minturno Scauri association in partnership with local businesses, aiming to promote the territory and support local tourism.
The official passport stamp for this BBCP location can be collected as part of the visit.
