Overview
Overlooking the northern tip of Lake Garda, Riva del Garda is a beautiful town at the foot of Monte Bondone and surrounded by the Brenta Dolomites, in an area steeped in regional traditions.
The two most charming spots in the historical centre are Piazza Catena and Piazza III Novembre, where the Apponale Tower stands among pretty pastel-coloured buildings. Climbing the eastern slope of Monte Rocchetta, one comes across the Bastion of Riva, an ancient military structure built at the beginning of the 16th century to protect the village. Continuing the walk, the Church of Santa Barbara and the Belvedere della Grola are two perfect vantage points for admiring the landscape reflected in the waters of Lake Garda. The Varone Waterfall Cave Park is a small natural treasure. The dramatic waterfall, formed by the waters of the Magnone stream and reached by walkways passing through imposing rock walls, is a unique and unforgettable experience.
