Cortina D’Ampezzo

Nicknamed the “Queen of the Dolomites”, Cortina D’Ampezzo is an exclusive destination international jet set destination and renowned tourist resort in the winter as well in the summer, with important international sporting events taking place on its ski slopes (Cortina will host the 2026 Winter Olympics). However, Cortina isn’t just a classy resort: its slopes are scattered over seven locations alternating gentle slopes with more adrenaline-filled ones, making it a mandatory destination for skiers and snowboarders alike.

Located on the southern side of the Puster Valley, close to Bruneck, in South Tyrol, Kronplatz is a rolling massif reaching an altitude of 2,275 meters and offering large panoramic views. The ski area offers ski slopes suitable for all kinds of skiers, from the demanding Black Five to slopes for beginners, to name but a few. The ski area caters for the needs of beginners and families as well as for snowboarders and expert freestylers.

Alta Badia

Alta Badia

Alta Badia lies in a central position within the Dolomiti Superski area, surrounded by Calfosch, Corvara and La Val. The valley’s ski area offers both slopes for beginners and families and more demanding slopes for those willing to be a little more daring. The Alta Badia ski area also offers access to the famous Sellaronda or “Four Passes” ski tour, firm favorite of the skiing community.

Val Gardena / Alpe di Siusi

One of the most highly recommended skiing locations in Italy with a place amongst the top winter holiday destinations is Val Gardena: framed by mountains of astonishing beauty and directly connected to the ski slopes of the Seiser Alm, it is Europe’s largest plateau. Here you can ski on the wide, family-friendly slopes of the Seiser Alm and test yourself on the famous Saslong run of the Alpine Ski World Cup. Then you must go for a walk and do some shopping in the pedestrian area of downtown Ortisei, or pay a visit to the pretty village of Kastelruth.

Nestled among the wonderful peaks of the Rosengarten group, Sella, Saslonch and Marmolada, the Fassa Valley ski area, directly connected to the Carezza area, is a real daydream for any skier: this ski area is one of the most renowned and complete in the Dolomites, divided into 7 different ski areas with 150 ski slopes suitable for everyone, breathtaking landscapes (including the amazing Sass Pordoi, the “Terrace of the Dolomites”), rills and slopes of pristine snow for freeride skiing enthusiasts, snow parks and many other options, such as cross-country skiing, moonlight skiing and no less than five ski tours (including the Sellaronda and Great War routes).

Arabba / Marmolada

Arabba offers all the ingredients for a perfect winter holiday: a wonderful position at the feet of Marmolada, wide range of different ski slopes, modern lifts and a snow park that also offers family activities. From here it’s possible to scale 3,343 meters to the top of the amazing, majestic Marmolada – the Dolomite peak – with its spectacular ski area, where you can try out the 12-kilometer “Bellunese” slope, the longest and most spectacular in the Dolomiti Superski area, and the famous Sellaronda, the longest ski route in the Dolomites. Then, don’t miss the Great War Museum and the characteristic village of Rocca Pietore, one of Italy’s most beautiful villages.

3 Peaks Dolomites

The 3 Peaks/Drei Zinnen Dolomites ski area is a pearl of beauty hidden in the twelve Dolomiti Superski areas, dominated by the extraordinary natural wonders of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, some of the most famous mountains in the Dolomites. The ski slopes are all different, with five mountains connected one to another offering both easy and more demanding slopes, like the steep Free Fall Ride (which reaches a gradient of 72%). Its award-winning slopes are also accompanied by award-winning refuges, and its resorts, including Innichen, Sexten and Toblach, are favorites with visitors. It is also possible to use the Ski Pustertal Express, a connection by train and bus to the Kronplatz–Plan de Corones ski area.

Fiemme Valley / Obereggen

Fiemme Valley guarantees a perfect winter holiday for those who love peace and quiet and nature: in the main valleys of eastern Trentino, it has hosted several Nordic skiing, ski jumping, Alpine skiing and cross-country skiing World Championships. It comprises a number of very versatile ski slopes, from slopes for kids to the most compelling ones, like the 7.5 km long Olimpia Slope. Nearby in the small Obereggen ski area, you can use the same ski-pass to ski on an additional 48 kilometers of slopes.

San Martino di Castrozza / Rolle Pass

The Dolomiti Superski area of San Martino di Castrozza/Passo Rolle is another obligatory stop for skiers in the Alps. There are many reasons for choosing it: its slopes with their view of the Pala Group, the possibility of enjoying thrilling freeride skiing or night skiing experiences on the floodlit slopes of Colverde, the chance to venture along one of its many ski-mountaineering itineraries or taste some typical food in its mountain cottages and refuges. From the Rolle Pass, at 1,980 m, you can reach the other valleys of the Dolomites by way of some of the Alps’ most panoramic routes.

Gitschberg-Jochtal / Brixen

The Gitschberg-Jochtal/Brixen ski area is a very tempting option for all diehard ski enthusiasts. Located in Eisack Valley, it includes exciting ski slopes with different levels of difficulty where it is possible to ski up to an altitude of 2,500 meters. Fun is guaranteed in its two snow parks and along the exciting Trametsch slope, one of the longest in the Dolomites. A winter holiday here is also the ideal opportunity for visiting Brixen, one of the most picturesque resorts in South Tyrol.

Alpe Lusia / San Pellegrino

Between Fassa Valley and Fiemme Valley, the ski region of Alpe Lusia/San Pellegrino is the ideal location for a family holiday but that’s not all: here you will find ski slopes with steep slopes and others suitable for everyone, three fun parks for snowboarders and freestylers, including the Lusia snow park, one of the most beautiful in the Dolomites. The San Pellegrino Pass (1,918 m) is a real paradise of winter activities, with all kinds of ski slopes, amazing tracks for cross-country skiing in the woods and the SanPe Snow Park for freestyle skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts.

Civetta

Civetta

The Civetta ski area lies in the Dolomites of Agordo, among Alleghe, Selva di Cadore and Val di Zoldo, in an extraordinary natural setting. Here, novice skiers can try their hand on simple slopes for families and beginners but the area also offers black slopes (notably the “Foppe” downhill slope of the former World Championship). Alleghe is also a handy departure point for the Great War ski tour that twists and turns around the walls of one of the most iconic spots of WWI: Col di Lana.
