Cravanzana

Overview

Surrounded by the waters of the Belbo and Bormida rivers, the centre is renowned for the harvesting of Tonda Gentile delle Langhe hazelnuts. In the historical centre, the 18th-century Baroque brick building of the Confraternity of Penitents and the 17th-century parish church of Saints Peter and Vitale can be admired. At the top of the village stands the castle of the Marquises Fontana, a 17th century manor surrounded by walls, now privately owned, but formerly the castle of the Del Carretto family.
