Overview
Orange Flag of the Italian Touring Club
Alagna is the last village in Valsesia and lies at the foot of the south face of Monte Rosa. Over time, its landscape has made it the perfect destination for those who love snow, winter and summer mountain sports: skiing is practiced here - especially off-piste - but also hiking, rock climbing and mountaineering. The cultural peculiarity of the village is the still living presence of the ancient Walser tradition, the German-speaking Swiss population whose houses can be seen in the upper part of the village. Not to be missed, in the village of Pedemonte, is the Walser Museum, a representative Walser house where the arrangement of furniture, the setting, objects and work tools tell the story and culture of this ancient people.
