From 19 December 2025 to 19 April 2026, the National Archaeological Museum of Reggio Calabria hosts "Gianni Versace. Terra Mater – Magna Graecia Roots Tribute", an exhibition celebrating the deep connection between the iconic designer and the cultural roots of Calabria. The exhibition explores how fashion, archaeology and Mediterranean identity intertwine, highlighting the influence of Greek and Roman classicism on Versace's creative imagination.
On display are iconic garments, accessories, furnishings, sketches and images, presented alongside Calabrian archaeological artefacts in a unique dialogue between myth, tradition and contemporary glamour. Motifs and forms from Magna Graecia emerge as a key source of inspiration, revealing the designer's ability to reinterpret classical heritage through a modern lens.
The exhibition programme also includes conferences, workshops, guided tours and educational activities, with contributions from designers, art historians, photographers and illustrators. Installations, performances, talks, screenings and evening events allow visitors to explore the relationship between classical heritage and contemporary languages in an immersive experience paying tribute to the creativity and cultural identity of Calabria.
