Overview
In 2026, Sila3Vette celebrates ten years of adventure, endurance and unspoilt nature, confirming itself as one of the most iconic and internationally recognised outdoor events. From 25 February to 1 March 2026, the Sila plateau stages a unique winter raid, often compared to Alaska's Iditarod in terms of intensity, environmental conditions and exploration spirit.
Inspired by Giuseppe Guzzo and Mara Carchidi, Sila3Vette is much more than a sporting competition: it is a profound experience that tests both body and mind as participants traverse snow-covered landscapes, absolute silence and extreme distances. The schedule features 5 routes, designed for different levels of experience but united by the same common thread: an authentic engagement with the mountain environment. They range from the 260 km Aria route, the event's signature challenge, to more accessible distances such as Conquista la Vetta (Conquer the Peak), allowing everyone to experience the event's atmosphere, even if they are beginners.
The races take place entirely in the Sila mountain domain between Cosenza and Catanzaro, and are open to various disciplines, such as snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, fat-bike MTB and, on some routes, participants can bring their canine friends too! Staggered departures from Camigliatello Silano take athletes and spectators on a journey spanning several days, engaging the entire local community and the area.
The tenth edition also marks the beginning of a broader vision: Sila3Vette becomes the hub of a network of outdoor events that brings together the Sila, Aspromonte and Pollino mountain domains, developing a continuous narrative of the Calabrian mountains through trails, trekking and local communities. A project that aims to reduce the seasonality of tourist flows and enhance inland areas, promoting an idea of slow, authentic and sustainable tourism.
