FEATURES

Routes that represent the majority of hiking routes, and therefore among the most varied in terms of natural environments. They run along mule tracks, trails and sometimes paths; on terrain with various geomorphological and vegetational contexts (e.g., pasture, undergrowth, scree, scree slopes). They are generally signposted and may have steep sections. Easy, unexposed rock sections may be encountered that require the use of hands for balance. Any exposed points are generally protected. They can cross flat or gently sloping areas on residual snow.

They require a sense of direction, hiking experience and adequate training.

 

EQUIPMENT

Suitable equipment is required, with particular regard to footwear.

Hiking route 628 starts at Serra Alta in the municipality of Balsorano and ends at Serra Comune in the municipality of Sora. According to the CAI standard, it is classified as Hiking and covers a total distance of 4.8 kilometres. The altitude of the starting point is 1665 metres and the maximum altitude reached is 1822 metres, while the minimum altitude is 1240 metres. The hiking route is suitable for those who want to immerse themselves in nature and enjoy a relaxing and rejuvenating experience. It is advisable to be well-equipped and prepared for different weather conditions and potential obstacles that may be encountered along the route.
