Overview
Luce della Montagna is the great exhibition that sets the scene to explore, with three absolute protagonists of twentieth-century photography and with a contemporary master, the iconographic universe of the mountain. The story of the mountain presents: the giant Ansel Adams with his black and white photographs of landscapes of the American national parks, real totems of the twentieth century, Martin Chambi, one of the first important photographers of South America, with his Peruvian Andes steeped in ethnographic and historical documentation, and Vittorio Sella, one of the most extraordinary historical photographers of the mountain, engaged in documenting mountaineering explorations like no other.
And finally, with an original portfolio under construction that was specially commissioned, the Brescian Alps – the 'home' mountain – captured by Axel Hütte, one of the most important exponents of contemporary German photography. The exhibition represents the spearhead of the 6th Edition of the Brescia Photo Festival, an event produced for the extraordinary edition 2023 in line with the theme of Bergamo and Brescia Capital of Culture 2023.
