The beauty gazing at the lake: the mural of Anguillara Sabazia that demands silence
There is a mural in the historic centre of Anguillara Sabazia, called "The beauty who gazes at the lake", in Via del Pratuccio 14 to be precise. It is a portrait of a woman asking for silence. The mural, covering the wall of a private home, was painted in the summer of 2018 by street artist Luis Gomez de Teran.
Who is Gomez
Luis Gomez de Teran, known simply as Gomez, was born in Caracas, Venezuela, in 1980. He has lived in London and Berlin, and currently lives in Rome. His painting is rooted in symbology, and draws inspiration from Baroque painting, particularly the school of Caravaggio.
The connection to Trovajoli and Italian cinema
The work is inspired by a piece from the soundtrack of "Nell'anno del Signore" (In the Year of Our Lord), a 1969 film by Luigi Magni. The music was composed by Armando Trovajoli, who frequently visited the area.
