Overview
The white quarry of the latomia of Santa Venera is the smallest of the three well-known latomie in Siracusa. Located in the eastern part of the Neapolis park, it was transformed into a lush garden in the 18th century, with rich, age-old vegetation spread out around a majestic pagoda fig. It was used in Greek times as a place of worship for deceased heroes, and its walls are engraved with small votive niches.
