Overview
Lake Polverina, located between Marche and Umbria at the gateway to the Monti Sibillini National Park, was formed following the construction of a dam near Camerino to dam the Chienti river. It has an elongated shape and an area of 66.60 hectares.
With an average depth of 18-20 metres, it is a very fishy lake, and the mostly flat shores lend themselves to nature walks that allow one to appreciate the flora and fauna of the wildlife sanctuary within which it lies.
