The Po Delta Park
We start in the Po Delta Park, one of the principal wetland areas in Europe and the largest in Italy; its biodiversity makes this a real paradise for nature lovers, biologists, travellers and birdwatchers. FromGoro to Cervia, through the beautiful landscapes of Comacchio and its valleys, from the Ecomuseum at Argenta to the pine forests of Classe and San Vitale. The immense natural heritage is waiting to be discovered: on foot, by bicycle, by motorboat or on horseback.
Vena del Gesso Regional Park
On the second leg, you'll discover the Vena del Gesso Regional Park, which runs from the Sillaro valley as far as Brisighella, in the Lamone valley. The area is full of sinkholes, hollows, gullies and caves. Also worth a visit is the karst landscape of Parco del Carnè, where in spring you can admire the beautiful blossom of protected plant species.
National Park of the Casentino Forests, Monte Falterona and Campigna
Centuries-old forests, mystical sanctuaries, waterfalls and World Heritage beech forests are the environments you will discover in the third stage. The protagonist is the Casentinesi Forests National Park, a place of extraordinary beauty and wildlife variety, with its millenary forests that in autumn give a foliage that is more unique than rare.
Caves of Onferno
The end of this itinerary is represented firstly by the discovery of the Onferno Caves, a source of inspiration for Dante; this is a karstic complex of considerable value, of which it is possible to appreciate particularities and landscapes by walking along the various paths that cross it. True hosts are the more than six thousand bats that inhabit the underground. Just a few kilometres and you arrive at the Sasso Simone and Simoncello Interregional Park, which offers plenty of routes through the countryside and trekking itineraries for all tastes.
