Circular itinerary in the Sirente Velino Regional Park

It starts with a climb from Ocre to Rocca di Cambio, the highest village in the Apennines, popular with tourists, thanks to the Campo Felice ski resort.

Rocca di Cambio is not just about sport and beautiful landscapes; the Church and Collegiate Church of San Pietro, which appeared in the film “The Return of Don Camillo”, deserves to be admired.

The ride continues across the plain to Rocca di Mezzo, opposite the summit of the Gran Sasso d'Italia. Along the route, you will see the remains of an old mill, used by Fellini in his masterpiece “The Road”.

After a climb to Piani di Pezza, you descend into Rovere, with its charming castle ruins and, if you want to learn more about the splendid animal of these mountains, there is a Chamois Visitor Centre with adjoining wildlife area.
