Lido di Cefalù

Overview

The panorama of the fortress, the cathedral and the harbour form the backdrop to the Lido di Cefalù beach, a wide crescent of fine sand with stretches of free beach; the gently sloping seabed is also suitable for families with children. A different choice, with a pebbly shore and rocks from which you can dive, is Caldura beach, a half-hour walk from the centre. You can reach other magnificent beaches by car or public transport. In the direction of Palermo, 3 km from Cefalù, we find Mazzaforno beach, with its sandy shore and crystal clear sea. Further on, Salinelle is a long stretch of sand (with equipped areas) with a deep seabed, while the windy Capo Playa is great for windsurfing and sailing enthusiasts. In the direction of Messina, about 6 km from Sant'Ambrogio beach: a wide sandy beach mixed with pebbles and gravel, entirely free, and usually absolutely quiet.
