Overview
Located within the Villa Lanolina park is a building designed by architect F. Minissi, which houses the museum with a collection of artefacts arranged according to topographic and chronological criteria, dating from prehistoric to Greek times. This heritage is partly composed of the archiepiscopal collection from the late 18th century, and of donations and materials found in numerous excavation campaigns in the region, including Akrai, Tapsos, Megara Hyblaea, Pantalica and others. Special attention goes to the Medal collection, which portrays the extraordinary coin production of the Greek colonies of Sicily.
