Enhancement, promotion and sustainability, these are the key principles of the Neapolis Marathon that will see thousands of participants invade the stupendous historic centre of the beautiful city of Naples, on Sunday 1 October.
“The Neapolis Marathon,” President Maurizio Marino explains, “returns this year on 1 October with an eye on sustainability and its three cornerstones: environment, equality and economy.”
In addition to the classic 42.195 km race, the 21.097 km half-marathon and the non-competitive race are also scheduled, details of which will be announced shortly.
All environmental associations and neighbourhood committees will be invited for a day of sporting and civic engagement to meditate on this year's motto, which will be: I am my environment.
The day of 1 October will be the highlight of a rich programme of side events that will have as their focal point the Marathon Village, set up in the central Piazza del Plebiscito, site of the event’s start and finish.
