Overview
Avola is a town that enchants for the nature that surrounds it, for the ancient history that has left traces in its architecture, for its flavours, but above all for its sea. Wild orchids still bloom here and the air smells of thyme, heather and rosemary. The heart of the village welcomes you with its grace and elegance and, between one walk and another, you cannot fail to enjoy a glass of the very famous wine that takes its name from the town: Nero d'Avola, a great red wine known throughout the world. And then there is the sea, the teeming life of the port, the ancient fishing village with its fresh fish shops and the old Tonnara: located in the small port of Marina d'Avola, it remains as a testimony to this ancient fishery, which for centuries represented the heart of the town's economy and table.
