On the Way of St Francis in Tuscany, a safe and immersive two-way route, you'll find clear and continuous signage. Follow the horizontal and vertical waymarkings, characterised by the classic red and white CAI signs combined with the yellow Tau and the name of the stage.

The lower variant of the Way of St Francis, which passes through Rignano sull'Arno, takes the pilgrim from Florence towards the Valdarno hills, following ancient footpaths past the Arno, olive groves, woods and historic villages. Once in Rignano sull'Arno, a crossroads on the Way of St Francis, the traveller encounters an area rich in history, nature and hospitality, a point of passage towards the Sanctuary of La Verna.
