A stage on the Via Vallombrosa branch.
From one of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy, Poppi, there is a fork in the route. You can follow either the right or the left bank of the River Arno, where the paths join up again just before Bibbiena.
This is a short stage, but no less interesting from a historical and religious point of view. It is an opportunity to explore the village of Poppi and its castle, whose Rilliana library houses 25,000 ancient tomes. There is also a magnificent ballroom and a tower, from which you can admire the incredible landscapes surrounding the manor. Other important sacred buildings include the Abbey of St Fidelis, the dele, the Preceptory of Saints Mark and Laurence, and the Oratory of Our Lady of the Illness.
