After crossing the green Valley of the Turano River, the route passes by the small village of Posticciola, which preserves an ancient washhouse and the Museum of Peasant Traditions. Below the village, lies a Roman Bridge, whose current construction was indeed erected in the eleventh century on the remains of the original one. Past a dam, we walk along the shore of the Turano Lake for about ten kilometres, admiring the stunning view of the wooded mountains reflected in the water. Our final destination, Castel di Tora, is a typical medieval village with a maze of narrow streets and houses in local stone, to be slowly discovered, while contemplating the magnificent lake. Castel di Tora is Included in the list of the “Borghi più belli d’Italia”, the most beautiful villages in Italy.
