The RSIT41 “Convento del Giglio | Tuscia” variant is a small detour from the official itinerary of the Via Romea Strata near Bolsena that offers pilgrims the opportunity to include a place of spirituality and hospitality in their journey. This stretch leads to the Convent of Santa Maria del Giglio, an ancient Franciscan complex located on a hill overlooking Lake Bolsena. The convent, which is now also used as a welcome centre for travellers, is run by volunteers and is an ideal stopping point for those who want to experience contemplation, rest and contact with nature in a simple and peaceful setting.
This variant is designed for those travelling the RSIT41 stage (Acquapendente → Bolsena) who wish to add a moment of reflection to their journey in a place with a strong spiritual value, as well as the possibility of finding a place of welcome dedicated to pilgrims.
