A scenic and evocative stage among shady woods and sheep farms, ideal for those who love to walk while admiring nature. The route winds to the right and left of the historic Via Cassia, immersed in a landscape dominated by the imposing Cimini Mountains.
The route varies in elevation, but is passable without any technical difficulties, and most of the path is in the shade, making it particularly pleasant in the warmer months. You walk at the foot of Mount Cimino, on the summit of which is Lake Vico, a basin of volcanic origin with great naturalistic charm.
The route passes through lush forests for several kilometres, then opens out onto vast hazelnut groves, until it reaches the characteristic Torre d'Orlando. It then continues through a natural depression, with passages over fords and wooden walkways that add variety to the route.
The last part of the route leads to the area of the caves, near the Etruscan necropolis, before entering Sutri, a village that is worth an in-depth visit for its ancient history and its unique monuments.
