This stage of the Via Francigena is an easy hiking trail immersed in the Lazio countryside and perfect for those who love walking in the midst of nature among fields, small villages and wooded stretches.

Starting from Sutri, you descend into the park in front of the Roman theatre and cross the area until you climb a panoramic hill overlooking the Etruscan tombs. The trail continues through hazelnut groves and open countryside, with evocative rural views and rural tranquillity.

Along the route you'll come to the Vallicella farm, cross the area of San Martino, and also pass through a series of golf courses before reaching Monterosi, a picturesque village that offers stopping points and views of the volcanic countryside.

Continuing on the route, you enter the Treja River Valley Park, where you will find the beautiful Monte Gelato waterfalls, a natural area ideal for a refreshing break. After crossing the river and leaving the Vallelunga racetrack behind, the stage ends in Campagnano di Roma.
