The Cori–Sermoneta stage, passing through Norma, is one of the most scenic and fascinating on the Southern Via Francigena, immersed in the wild landscape of the Lepini Mountains.
You start from Cori, leaving the ancient village and heading along hilly paths and wooded stretches, with spectacular views of the Pontine Plain. The path alternates between dirt tracks and secondary roads, with continuous ups and downs that require a good level of fitness.
The arrival in Norma, perched on the edge of the Lepini Mountains, offers one of the widest views of the entire route: on a clear day, the view extends as far as the sea. It is an ideal spot for a rejuvenating break.
Then continue towards Sermoneta, with stretches immersed in nature and a scenic finish towards the medieval village dominated by the majestic Caetani Castle. The entrance to the perfectly preserved historic centre offers a timeless atmosphere.
With a length of about 22–24 km, it is a stage that combines nature, spectacular views and medieval villages, among the most evocative of the Lazio section of the Via Francigena del Sud.
