We finally arrive in the heart of Rome, but keep walking through cycle paths and wonderful parks to avoid the noisy and busy streets.

From Piazza Sempione, in the district of Monte Sacro, we proceed towards Ponte Tazio over the Aniene River. We tread on sidewalks and pleasant cycle-pedestrian paths along the Tiber River, till we lastly reach the Vatican. Paying attention to the signs, we come to Villa Ada, the second largest park in Rome. Born as a royal residence of the Savoy Family, it boasts a noteworthy architectural and naturalistic heritage.

The route continues towards the Mosque, and then, past the historic park of Villa Glori, arrives at the “Auditorium e Parco della Musica di Roma”. After crossing the important ancient bridge Ponte Milvio, we get back on the cycle-pedestrian path along the Tiber. The itinerary offers us a unique view of Castel Sant’Angelo and St. Peter’s Dome, called in Roman dialect “er Cuppolone”.

Past the magnificent Ponte Sant’Angelo, flanked by beautiful statues of angels, we take Viale della Conciliazione and head to St. Peter’s Basilica and the Vatican City, where we will get our last stamp on our pilgrim passport and the Testimonium Sancti Petri.
