Departing from Terni, you enter the valley of the Nera River and reach the Marmore Waterfalls and the village of Arrone. You set off from Terni in the direction of Assisi.
The path will lead us from the flat ground of the city of Terni to the silent, green valley of the Nera River until we reach the spectacular Marmore Waterfalls.
The first stretch crosses the outskirts of the city and in less than 6 km you will have left behind the chaos of the city to return to the nature of Umbria. The path climbs gradually as far as the locality of San Liberatore, following the minor road with less traffic.
The pleasant descent then begins, towards the Marmore Waterfalls, which shows itself to the pilgrims from the distance. We recommend a visit to the Marmore Waterfalls and its park, full of trails (check the timetable of the release of the water on the website: www.marmorefalls.it ).
From the Waterfalls, a pleasant little country dirt road follows the currents up the Nera River. This part of the journey that leads pilgrims between narrow, rocky valleys and the Nera River is very simple and pleasant.
