The Way of St. Benedict is a 300 km route from Norcia to Montecassino via Subiaco, crossing two regions (Umbria and Lazio). Dedicated to St. Benedict of Norcia, founder of Western monasticism and patron saint of Europe, it offers pilgrims a unique spiritual and experiential journey, passing through some of the most significant Benedictine sites in Europe, as well as fascinating places of art and beautiful landscapes. It allows travelers to experience an authentic Italy, rich in traditions, hospitality, and excellent cuisine.
The Way can be traveled either on foot or by bicycle: in one continuous journey (recommended) or in stages, with the option to use public transportation. Norcia, Rieti, Mandela, and Subiaco are the best-connected stops.
