The Rieti Sacred Valley Loop traces the places that marked the presence of St Francis in the Sacred Valley of Rieti, passing through landscapes of great natural and spiritual value. The route connects the medieval town of Rieti to the four Franciscan sanctuaries of Greccio, La Foresta, Poggio Bustone and Fonte Colombo, immersed in the woods of the valley. The route also passes by the Beech of St Francis in Rivodutri, the ancient villages overlooking the Velino Valley and the slopes of Mount Terminillo. Among plains, hills, mountains, springs and centuries-old forests, the Way offers an experience that allows you to slowly discover the area, which is an interweaving of historical heritage, nature and spirituality in the most significant places of the Franciscan tradition.
