This is the most challenging stage. The route runs almost entirely through mountainous terrain, following trails and forest tracks. In the first part, alternating between woods and pastureland, the path transitions from Romagna to Tuscany, offering sweeping views of the Marecchia, Savio, and Alta Valle del Tevere.
The long final stretch in the mountains is immersed in dense forests, skirting the Alta Valle del Tevere Nature Reserve and eventually entering the territory of the Casentinesi Forests National Park. The route is well-marked with the red-and-white CAI trail signs, supplemented by the specific signage of the Path.
