Chianti, land of wines

Chianti is a hilly region between Florence and Siena, known throughout the world for its wine and for the profound harmony of the landscape. Amongst the medieval towns and the isolated houses, standing on carefully cultivated hills, the roads wind through rows of cypress trees. Visiting Tuscany, Goethe was struck by the countryside, by the landscape that still fascinates tourists. It must be said that the beauty of Tuscany is partly due to the efforts of the farmers who over the centuries have given the area the forms painted by the Sienese painters of the fifteenth century.
