San Zeno Maggiore

The roots of the Basilica of San Zeno Maggiore burrow into the twilight of the Roman Empire, in the tomb in which the saint was buried in about 380 AD. The church is, with the Arena, the most-renowned monument in the city. The facade is a collection of masterpieces amongst which we will mention: the rose window decorated with high-relief statues, symbols of human destiny, and the porch supported by two columns with the base in the shape of lions. The portal is decorated with 48 bronze tiles.
