Frasassi Avventura: so many emotions among the forest and river in the heart of the Marche region

In Genga, a small village enclosed within the walls of a medieval castle in the heart of the Marche region, in the centre of the Gola della Rossa e di Frasassi Regional Park, is Frasassi Avventura.

3 minutes

This is one of the Italian adventure parks with the most fascinating natural scenery: between the rock walls and the green waters of the Sentino river.

Here, the relatively low number of available routes is compensated for by the infinite resources offered by the surrounding area: the park is a stone's throw from the extraordinary underground spectacle of the Frasassi Caves and the sulphurous San Vittore water spa. There are also a series of picturesque itineraries through the Gola della Rossa e di Frasassi Regional Park.

Routes of all colours, between excitement and adrenalin

Set amidst suspended cables over the Sentino river, swinging Tibetan bridges and vertiginous pulleys, the park offers 5 different courses, classified by colour and level of effort required.

The yellow and orange are designed for children and youngsters from 100 to 130 centimetres tall and from 4 years of age. They run a few metres from the river, but without crossing it and at a height of no more than one and a half metres, so that caregivers can easily supervise the little ones' acrobatics.

The green course is suitable for children from 130 centimetres in height and at least 7 years of age as well as for adults, and runs on one side of the river, but already at a height of more than 3 metres. It is the easiest of the courses for adults, an excellent gym to warm up before tackling the more complex games, but also a way to start testing oneself at high altitude, not far from the sight of adults.

The blue and red routes present higher levels of difficulty and are intended for people over 140 centimetres tall. They cross the Sentino river bed with Tibetan bridges, passages over steel cables and exciting zip lines, testing concentration, courage and a good dose of agility and balance.

Trained staff to play safely

Sportswear is recommended for access to the adventure park trails. After an initial briefing, the instructors will explain the use of the devices and progression and safety techniques, providing you with the appropriate and certified equipment: harness, with lanyards, carabiners and pulleys for adults and protective helmet.

Trained in assistance and rescue techniques, the staff will constantly follow you from the ground, ready to step in to give you suggestions or help. Minors must always be accompanied by an adult.

At the entrance to the park you will find a bar and an area equipped with picnic tables and chairs, but you can also have a picnic lunch along the way.

An ideal location for parties and events

The Frasassi Avventura team also organises excursions with nature guides, educational activities for children, creative workshops in nature with environmental educators and animators, and customised proposals on request for groups and families.
Birthday parties, hen and stag parties, team building workshops for companies and coaching agencies, and other events can also be organised in the park.
Frasassi Avventura is also the ideal location for a school outing or a start of the year reception: its tree trails invite each child to get involved and conquer their fears while having fun, and enhance group bonding.

And the adventure continues underground...

You can then enrich your experience at the adventure park by exploring the Gola della Rossa e di Frasassi Regional Natural Park and the spectacular Frasassi Caves, a heritage site of inestimable natural and scientific value, a paradise for lovers of geology and speleology.
To visit the caves, you can choose between two different underground routes, both drifting between small lakes, stalactites, stalagmites and crystallised columns that reflect the light in an evocative way: the classic one, more touristy and accessible to all, or an itinerary with varying degrees of difficulty, for the more daring.

And once in the sunlight, the exploration can continue in the 10,000 hectares rich in biodiversity of the Gola della Rossa e di Frasassi Regional Natural Park and along the cliffs around Frasassi. Among sports and outdoor activities, the options are many: mountain biking, horse riding, caving, canoeing and rafting on the Sentino river; the park's rock walls are also an extraordinary training ground for lovers of classic or sport climbing.

And, at the San Vittore spa, well-deserved relaxation

Full of excitement and long distances behind you, you can end the tour by treating yourself to a pampering and well-deserved refreshment stop in the heated pool of the San Vittore thermal baths, right where you started: tepid waters, gushing from sulphurous springs, ideal for relaxing the muscles and recharging the batteries.
