Castiglion Fiorentino is a characteristic village immersed in the Valdichiana, surrounded by its verdant landscape and the lively streams that flow through it. Embracing the village are splendid olive groves, rows of vines and the placid grazing of the Chianina cattle: a bucolic and relaxing scenario that welcomes the visitor on his way to the village. Arriving at the village, to reach the centre one passes the towers that delimit the oldest part of the settlement, once strategic points for the control and defence of the town. The heart of the village is the town hall square, from which one proceeds strolling through its cosy streets until reaching the Cassero archaeological area, which recounts the territory's most ancient past. And not to be missed, a food and wine break, perhaps tasting a fine cut of Chianina beef accompanied by a glass of Tuscan red, to unite the memory of these enchanting places with that of its flavours.
