Val di Fiemme: skiing, fun and clean air at high altitude

Fir and larch forests add to the romance of Val di Fiemme's snowy landscape.

The real highlight of the area is the very clean air, provided by no fewer than 60 million trees, capable of capturing 2 million tonnes of CO2. The beautiful Dolomite valley is located in Trentino and partly in Alto Adige; it is one of the most popular ski destinations.

Relax in tranquillity and nature

Snow and more: in the Val di Fiemme Obereggen, postcard-perfect scenery and relaxation are the main features, so much so that it is now an international wellness destination as well as a winter sports destination. Wellness and spa centres provide customised treatments for every need.

The landscape is breathtaking, also thanks to the two national parks at Paneveggio Pale di San Martino and Monte Corno. For skiing, it is a winning destination: there are 120 kilometres of attractive slopes.

One of the jewels of eastern Trentino: let’s look at the numbers

Val di Fiemme is known for hosting several world championships in Nordic skiing, ski jumping, alpine skiing and cross-country skiing. Its slopes are very versatile and it also has 45 ski lifts, 2 snow parks, 1 children's fun park, toboggan runs and night skiing possibilities.

Fun for all

In Val di Fiemme, children can put on their skis, following simple and safe routes, as well as the more experienced, with high-level proposals such as the 7.5-kilometre Pista Olimpia. Not far away is the small ski resort of Obereggen, which is not lacking in surprises, beginning with the fact that you can use the same ski pass and whizz through the snow on another 48 kilometres of slopes.

Snow, slopes and ancient forests

The area that goes by the name of Val di Fiemme-Obereggen includes several special ski resorts. They all guarantee careful slope preparation and excellent snow quality. The mix of natural and artificial allows for a compact and flowing mantle, perfect for a top-notch experience.

In these parts you can move between centuries-old forests on slopes such as the Monte Agnello in Pampeago or the Obeholz in Obereggen.

Skiing at dusk or when the sun rises

In Val di Fiemme, one piece of advice is to also ski at certain times of the day, such as late in the evening or early morning.

At dawn, the experience is unforgettable, with the rays illuminating and colouring every corner. Under the stars, you can put on your skis on the Olimpia 3 slope of the Alpe Cermis, from 19.30 to 22.30, and the Obereggen slope of the Ski Centre Latemar, from 19.00 to 22.00. The tour includes dinner at the ski lodge and the option of skiing back.
