The secret city of Damanhur

Overview

A large underground cathedral near Turin

Fifty kilometres from Turin, in the Chiusella valley, you can visit a unique place that is the result of years of manual labour by the Damanhur spiritual community. We are in Vidracco, a small municipality with 500 inhabitants, but the wonder we are talking about is not immediately visible if you happen to pass through the area.
The secret city of Damanhur, considered by many to be the eighth wonder of the world, is a great work carved into the heart of the mountain: 850,000 cubic metres on five levels, reaching a depth of 70 metres. It is home to The Temples of Humankind: a magical cacophony of art, lights and colours winding through corridors, secret passages and seven large rooms decorated with mosaics, sculptures and paintings.

From the Hall of Mirrors to the Hall of Water, through the Hall of Earth and the Hall of Metals: you are sure to be stunned by this place of worship created for the Federation of Damanhur community, which lives according to a philosophy founded on love and the Divine.

For years kept secret from the public, today you can visit the underground city of Damanhur, accompanied by local guides, to discover all the secrets of this charming, spiritual place.
